How it Works
Choose a program
Select the program that matches your child's age and experience. Each program is designed to meet young sailors where they are, whether they're stepping onto a boat for the first time or ready to lead others on the water.
Enroll on our online portal or in person
You’ll need to submit the following forms:
- Medical Form - Must be completed and submitted before your program begins.
- Swim Certificate & Code of Conduct - Download, print and bring signed copies on your first day. All participants, including Harbor Explorers, must pass a swim assessment to take part in programming.
- Adaptive Worksheet - For guardians of children with disabilities. This helps us provide the best possible experience and appropriate accommodations for your child.
- Waiver & Photo Release - Must be completed by a guardian for liability purposes and to allow photos and videos. This form is required for participation.
You’re ready to go!
On the day of your program you’ll get a tour of the dock, an intro to the team and a look at our fleet before we get started.
Anyone is welcome to come and have a look before registering.
Testimonials
Hear from parents and participants about their experience with Pier Spark Sailing
My son, is a young man with complex special needs. Your instructor is doing a tremendous job with him. He intuitively understood how to deal with his physical limitations and his unique way of communicating. He treats him with respect and kindness. Most importantly he treats him like just another kid. We, as parents, could not ask for more.
My daughter Olivia had an amazing experience at Piers Park Sailing Center's summer camp! From day one, the instructors and staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and supportive. They make every child felt included and confident on the water.
We had lots of fun. It was a good experience to paddle and ride a boat in the middle of the city. I didn't think this was possible around here. It was also good to see opportunities like jobs we can do around the city that seem fun like being a sail instructor."
